“I chose Redmond because of the familial culture amongst the staff that I had experienced when I was interviewing. While touring the hospital, everyone was not only extremely friendly, but they were helpful as well. Not only to coworkers, but to patients and patients’ families. I had experienced a code on one floor and everyone seamlessly jumped in to help, but not in a chaotic “too many helping hands” type of way, but like a well-oiled machine. They all worked together to help save the patient. It was also evident that each person was respected for their job at Redmond. There wasn’t any hierarchy or some employees placed over others. I wanted to be a part of that family.
“The nature. I love hiking, kayaking, and have always wanted to try fishing and camping. I used to come to the Blue Ridge Mountains with my family in the winters for a few days to stay in the cabins, and I always appreciated the untouched beauty of NW GA. When I saw that I could enjoy a piece of that on my days off while working at Redmond, I knew I would enjoy being here. I can’t wait to hike through NW GA and see how many trails I can experience before the end of residency. Not to mention how friendly, polite and helpful everyone is here; it’s refreshing. The smaller town feel of Rome is something one can really appreciate as you mature and settle down.”
